Caroline Adams

Caroline Adams

Caroline Adams DDS graduated from BU Dental School in 2018 and practices general dentistry in Southern New Hampshire. She is an avid dancer, hiker, and outdoor adventurer with a relentless enthusiasm for new things and exploring the world. Newly married, she and her husband Chris and their golden retriever Sophie love the outdoors and being together. On January 30, 2022, they went sledding on a hill in Londonderry, NH on a bright, blue-sky day, and mid-afternoon their lives were changed forever: Caroline went over an unexpected bump, flew off her tube, and landed on her back on the somewhat icy slope, and will, barring a miracle, never walk again.

Caroline grew up in Holliston, MA. Although she practices in NH, she remains a member of MDS and is an active volunteer, In fact, she was volunteering at Yankee Dental Congress just days before her tragic accident. She has also been heavily involved in other volunteer community service activities while in school and beyond, including ASDA, Team Smile, the Greater Boston Food Bank, Rosie’s Place, and Miles and Smiles Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk team.

Caroline is now in a rehab facility fully focused on returning to clinical dentistry, with that same relentless spirit shining through. She is looking into, and is hopeful that a hand-powered handpiece might exist so that she can return to treating the patients she so loves. As you could well imagine, Caroline and Chris are facing enormous expenses that they never expected, as they plan for this turn their lives have taken. From day one, Caroline has been incredibly positive, hopeful, and thankful for the support of so many people in the dental community and beyond.

When we considered sending this news out to our members, we took into consideration the fact that Caroline is not a Fellow. Yet, she is an exceptional colleague. We know ACD Fellows are extremely generous people so please consider a donation to help Caroline and her husband navigate their new path as they realize their new dream of converting their home to suit her new needs.
